Dr. Sebastiaan Theuns
As a veterinarian, Sebastiaan Theuns experienced firsthand the frustrations with traditional diagnostics. This led him to seek out a new, more effective way to identify and understand diseases. During his post-doc he was particularly intrigued by the potential of nanopore sequencing to provide a rapid and comprehensive view of all pathogens in a sample, which he saw as a revolutionary solution to a long-standing problem in veterinary medicine. This fascination became the foundation for co-founding PathoSense, where he now serves as CEO, committed to delivering more precise and actionable diagnostic tools.
Dr. Rosalie Swimberghe
Rosalie is Partnership Manager at PathoSense. With a PhD from Ghent University, her scientific background is rooted in microbiology. In her role at PathoSense, she leverages this expertise to build strategic partnerships and manage business development, ensuring the company's innovative diagnostic solutions are successfully brought to the veterinary market.
